I have always been drawn to the idea of finding calm in the midst of change. My own experiences of displacement and transition taught me how deeply we all need safety, understanding, and connection. These lessons continue to guide my work as a counsellor today.
Born in Brazil and raised between Lebanon and Brazil, I grew up adapting to different cultures, languages, and ways of life. Through these transitions, I came to value the role that social support, community connection, and access to resources play in wellbeing and resilience.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology. Before joining MindFluent, I worked in community and private practice settings, supporting youth and adults through anxiety, trauma, and major life transitions. My approach is person centered and trauma informed, integrating EMDR, CBT, and DBT tools to meet clients where they are.
For me, therapy is about helping people find steadiness amid uncertainty. A place to pause, feel seen, and begin again. I am continually inspired by the quiet strength people bring to the process of healing and by the ways that self understanding and connection can restore a sense of balance over time.
Outside the therapy room, I enjoy spending time with my dog Daisy, getting lost in a good fantasy book, or exploring small creative projects like candle making, crochet, and building with Legos. These simple joys help me stay grounded and bring a sense of balance and curiosity to both my life and my work.

EMDR and Counselling Therapist
Client focus: Adults, teens, LGBTQ+
Languages spoken: English & Cantonese
I am a Chinese-Canadian and a child of immigrants. Like many, my upbringing was not always smooth. Growing up in a working-class family, access to resources was often limited, and I navigated stigmatizing experiences related to mental health, sexuality, masculinity, cultural identity, and multiple career transitions.
Over time, I have come to compassionately embrace the imperfections of my journey, not to minimize the difficulties I’ve experienced, but to recognize how they have shaped who I am and the future I continue to build. These experiences have led me to believe that there is no hierarchy of suffering and we all are equally valid and worthy of healing.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Counselling. Prior to entering the counselling field, I worked with youth and adults across the lifespan, including LGBTQ+ folks, people of colour, newcomers, and refugees. I have supported those navigating school and career transitions, unemployment, housing instability, and access to community resources. I carry with me their stories, perseverance, and wisdom into my practice.
In my work, I seek to understand you as a whole person, recognizing your background and worldview. As we work together in ways that fit your needs, I welcome feedback and openness in shaping our path together. My approach is integrative and systemic, drawing from EMDR, parts work (IFS), sensorimotor approaches, solution-focused therapy, and CBT. I incorporate compassion-focused and mindfulness-based practices that blend Eastern philosophies with Western approaches.
Outside of work, I find balance with creative and physical hobbies, of body and mind. I like to immerse myself in story-rich video games, exploring new restaurants and recipes, hikes, and the occasional yoga session.

Life can get messy (okay, really messy). Sometimes the goal is more calm and less chaos. Other times, it’s finding calm regardless of the chaos and complicated relationships around you. Are distressing thoughts, feelings, and behaviours bringing you down? I’m here to help you find a sense of calm you haven’t accessed before, so you can live with greater clarity, confidence, and comfort.
I welcome you to take a centering breath right now.
Maybe wiggle your toes or notice the rhythm of your heart beating.
Take a moment to check in with yourself. What kind of relief are you looking for today?
Whether you choose talk therapy or EMDR therapy with me, we’ll explore not only what’s happening for you but also how your mind and body are responding to it.
I grew up in East Van, and I bring that flavour to our sessions. That means I keep it real, offering you a safe, down-to-earth space to share the tough stuff at your own pace. I know starting or restarting therapy can feel intimidating, but you don’t have to navigate it alone.
My background includes leading workshops at places like Coast Mental Health, Union Gospel Mission, Heartwood Treatment Centre, Burnaby Youth Custody, and Salvation Army’s Belkin House. I’ve also been a guest lecturer at the Adler School of Professional Psychology and the UBC Master of Social Work program.
I hold a Master’s degree in Counselling and am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC). I work with clients to address complex topics like trauma from childhood, work, or religion. With some clients, we tackle the challenges of parenting differently from how you were raised, and with other clients, we build the practical tools needed to prevent relapse and create lasting recovery. It’s incredibly rewarding to witness my clients’ growth and breakthroughs.
I live with my husband, two kids, and a black and tan Shiba Inu. Growing up, I attended many Vancouver Grizzlies basketball games, including their final home game. More recently, I’ve been spending my time finding new use cases for my Cricut or Stream Deck, caring for my aging mother, and competing in Rubik’s cube solving competitions.
Whenever you’re ready, feel free to reach out and say hi. You can book a free 30-minute consultation to see if I’m a good fit for your goals. I look forward to meeting you.

EMDR and Counselling Therapist
Client focus: Adults

As a Ukrainian, I learned early that life doesn’t always offer stability. The world I grew up in demanded strength and adaptability, and it taught me that we heal not by avoiding pain, but by staying connected to what makes us human.
I hold two graduate degrees in Education and Counselling Psychology. Before beginning my work as a therapist, I lived and taught English in Ukraine and China. Across cultural and language differences, I saw that respect and kindness are the most powerful forms of communication. Building meaningful relationships with my students showed me how understanding and warmth can nurture growth and confidence. These experiences deepened my curiosity about human behaviour and continue to shape my approach to counselling today.
I’ve also worked in administrative roles in Canada, which gave me insight into corporate life, its pressures, transitions, and the quiet search for balance many people face. These experiences help me relate to clients from different backgrounds and bring a grounded, realistic perspective to my practice.
I use an integrative approach grounded in person-centred therapy and EMDR, drawing on CBT and mindfulness-based strategies to support individuals experiencing anxiety, trauma, and relational challenges. I aim to meet clients where they are, bringing both clarity and compassion to the process of healing. Clients often describe me as warm and authentic. What fulfills me most is seeing my clients reclaim the parts of themselves they thought were lost—their trust, their strength, their sense of who they are—and carry those forward with safety, calm, and confidence.
Outside of work, I find peace in nature, walking my Dalmatian, Jessie, through forest trails, camping by lakes, or tending to my garden. I also enjoy playing the piano, a quiet way to slow down and express what words sometimes can’t.

I believe that while trauma often happens within relationships, healing happens there too. In both my personal life and my work with clients, I am regularly reminded of the transformative power of authentic, loving connection.
Growing up as the eldest daughter in a family shaped by intergenerational trauma, I developed an early sensitivity to how individuals and systems navigate both harm and resilience. With the support of safe attachment figures, I learned to find empowerment and meaning despite life’s challenges, and those lessons now guide how I support others.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology. My clinical approach is deeply informed by attachment-based therapies, and I integrate EMDR to help clients navigate complex trauma, substance use, grief, and gender-based violence.
My background includes supporting neurodivergent children and families, as well as working with young adults facing homelessness and major life transitions. This experience has shaped a therapeutic lens that honours the complexities of power, privilege, and our shared humanity.
For me, therapy is a dedicated space where you can explore your true self with someone who offers wholehearted acceptance and care. I bring a sense of compassionate curiosity to every session, acting as a committed passenger as we navigate your unique journey of triumphs and challenges together. My goal is to help you connect with the inner strengths and values that are already within you.
Outside the therapy room, I find a lot of meaning in my roles as a sister, daughter, and proud auntie. I am most likely to be found curled up with my cat and a good book, walking along local coastal trails, or wandering the aisles of a craft store looking for inspiration for my next project. These moments of connection and creativity help me stay grounded and curious in my own life.

As a Métis person growing up in a family plagued by addiction and violence, my early life was a constant struggle. Each day felt like an uphill battle as I tried to find my place in the world amidst the confusion and pain of bullying and abuse. These experiences have given me a unique perspective on life and have shaped me into the empathetic and compassionate counsellor I am today. Although my upbringing was challenging, it has also allowed me to connect with my clients in a way that few others can, and I am grateful for the opportunity to help others find their way through difficult times.
Throughout my life, I have explored many professions and roles, ranging from being a live games pit boss to an accredited financial planner. Although these experiences were diverse, they all contributed to preparing me for my true calling, counselling. I believe that they have given me a well-rounded understanding of the world, which enables me to relate to almost anyone. Helping others navigate life’s challenges is my passion, and I pour my heart and soul into every session. Now, as a happily married family man and father of two young children, I find this career to be even more rewarding than ever.
As someone who has experienced trauma firsthand, I understand how devastating it can be. However, I also know that hope and healing are possible, and I am dedicated to helping my clients find them. Using empirically supported therapies such as EMDR, I have witnessed firsthand the transformative power of therapy. I believe that everyone has the potential to heal and grow, and I am honoured to be a part of my clients’ journeys. For me, nothing is more satisfying professionally than witnessing my clients succeed and reach their full potential.
