As a Métis person growing up in a family plagued by addiction and violence, my early life was a constant struggle. Each day felt like an uphill battle as I tried to find my place in the world amidst the confusion and pain of bullying and abuse. These experiences have given me a unique perspective on life and have shaped me into the empathetic and compassionate counsellor I am today. Although my upbringing was challenging, it has also allowed me to connect with my clients in a way that few others can, and I am grateful for the opportunity to help others find their way through difficult times.
Throughout my life, I have explored many professions and roles, ranging from being a live games pit boss to an accredited financial planner. Although these experiences were diverse, they all contributed to preparing me for my true calling, counselling. I believe that they have given me a well-rounded understanding of the world, which enables me to relate to almost anyone. Helping others navigate life’s challenges is my passion, and I pour my heart and soul into every session. Now, as a happily married family man and father of two young children, I find this career to be even more rewarding than ever.
As someone who has experienced trauma firsthand, I understand how devastating it can be. However, I also know that hope and healing are possible, and I am dedicated to helping my clients find them. Using empirically supported therapies such as EMDR, I have witnessed firsthand the transformative power of therapy. I believe that everyone has the potential to heal and grow, and I am honoured to be a part of my clients’ journeys. For me, nothing is more satisfying professionally than witnessing my clients succeed and reach their full potential.

I have always been drawn to the idea of finding calm in the midst of change. My own experiences of displacement and transition taught me how deeply we all need safety, understanding, and connection. These lessons continue to guide my work as a counsellor today.
Born in Brazil and raised between Lebanon and Brazil, I grew up adapting to different cultures, languages, and ways of life. Through these transitions, I came to value the role that social support, community connection, and access to resources play in wellbeing and resilience.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology. Before joining MindFluent, I worked in community and private practice settings, supporting youth and adults through anxiety, trauma, and major life transitions. My approach is person centered and trauma informed, integrating EMDR, CBT, and DBT tools to meet clients where they are.
For me, therapy is about helping people find steadiness amid uncertainty. A place to pause, feel seen, and begin again. I am continually inspired by the quiet strength people bring to the process of healing and by the ways that self understanding and connection can restore a sense of balance over time.
Outside the therapy room, I enjoy spending time with my dog Daisy, getting lost in a good fantasy book, or exploring small creative projects like candle making, crochet, and building with Legos. These simple joys help me stay grounded and bring a sense of balance and curiosity to both my life and my work.

As a Ukrainian, I learned early that life doesn’t always offer stability. The world I grew up in demanded strength and adaptability, and it taught me that we heal not by avoiding pain, but by staying connected to what makes us human.
I hold two graduate degrees in Education and Counselling Psychology. Before beginning my work as a therapist, I lived and taught English in Ukraine and China. Across cultural and language differences, I saw that respect and kindness are the most powerful forms of communication. Building meaningful relationships with my students showed me how understanding and warmth can nurture growth and confidence. These experiences deepened my curiosity about human behaviour and continue to shape my approach to counselling today.
I’ve also worked in administrative roles in Canada, which gave me insight into corporate life, its pressures, transitions, and the quiet search for balance many people face. These experiences help me relate to clients from different backgrounds and bring a grounded, realistic perspective to my practice.
I use an integrative approach grounded in person-centred therapy and EMDR, drawing on CBT and mindfulness-based strategies to support individuals experiencing anxiety, trauma, and relational challenges. I aim to meet clients where they are, bringing both clarity and compassion to the process of healing. Clients often describe me as warm and authentic. What fulfills me most is seeing my clients reclaim the parts of themselves they thought were lost—their trust, their strength, their sense of who they are—and carry those forward with safety, calm, and confidence.
Outside of work, I find peace in nature, walking my Dalmatian, Jessie, through forest trails, camping by lakes, or tending to my garden. I also enjoy playing the piano, a quiet way to slow down and express what words sometimes can’t.
